Purpose of the Role: |
The Server/DB admin is an integral part of the infra team providing front-line support to end users on various application, Server & DB issues and problems relating to software, application, and associated DB The position is also responsible for the management and maintenance of UPL Server/databases and ensuring that UPL Server/databases are functional and backed up in the event of a disaster. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, performance, integrity, and security of Server/databases working closely with business and technical partners, subject matter experts, end users, and technical resources (third-party vendors) performing root cause analysis, developing checklists for typical problems and recommend procedures and controls for problem prevention. |

Primary Accountabilities: - Knowledge on Windows administration along with MS-SQL database.

- Asset Management Server CMDB Uploaded
- Asset Management Server Inventory Maintain
- Audit Related communication Sify to UPL Internal.
- Sify Datacentre Visit & Maintenance Activity
- Ticket Raise to Sify Team & HPE Team communication.
- Domain renewal & other domain invoice downloaded and share the procurement Team,
- Support to infra team & backup Agent (Commvault) installation.
- Monthly DB & File system Restore Activity initiated and Audit Related Evidence.
- DB Backup & File system backup/copy as per request.
- Windows 2012 & 2016 OS migration Supported SQL DB Related Point to Server Admin
- Responsible for monitoring and responding to service requests and incidents submitted through an ITSM Service-now system.
- Proficient at Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Secondary Responsibilities (MS-SQL Database):- - Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users considering both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
- Develop, manage, and test back-up and recovery plans including carry out capacity planning
- Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.
- Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses including providing proactive and reactive data management support.
- Assist business users by performing analysis of various issues relating to applications and databases and subsequently remediating them.
- Experience on SQL Server Database Administration.
- high-availability client server OLTP and OLAP Database applications & Connection.
- Perform advanced database tasks such as execution plan index tuning, maintenance plan design, object security management, distributed database management and normalized relational modeling.
- Creating and maintaining a knowledge base with documentation of issues and resolutions.
- Managing and Administrating SQL Server 2008\2008R2\2012\2014\2017\2019 production and Non-production Servers.
- Installing & upgrading SQL Server 2008\2008R2\2012\2014\2017\2019 and its service packs on Windows Environment
- SQL Log Shrink, Create Database
- Experience in Database backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Experience in Log Shipping, Mirroring and Always On.
- Knowledge in Reporting Services & Analysis Services.
- Performed daily tasks including using tools like SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Profiler, SQL Server Agent, and Database Engine Tuning Advisor, Trace.
- Well versed in SQL Server technical skills and should be able to drive the problems and provide technical solutions.
- Knowledge on creating SQL objects like Tables, Views, Indexes, , Rules, Defaults, user defined data types and functions.
