1 Scope of operations

The purpose of BTS Engineering is to provide detailed

Engineered documentation for new, expansions and upgrades of Indoor/Outdoor BTS sites based on Network design and attend to all Telecom Power related matters. This includes IE Document preparation, TSSR, Power BOQ, Training of Engineering ASP Teams plus complete co

ordination & support to all Interfaces associated with Site Engineering.

2 Mode of operation

 Provide BTS Engineering & Power support including BTS Site Surveys, Survey Check List preparation, validation & updates, CAD Drawings, IE Doc preparation which includes QA checklist & External Alarms

 Training of Engineering ASP vendor teams on existing as well on new products from Engineering perspectives.

 Inspection of pre despatched Power equipments, from new vendors & validate their internal Test Reports.

 Detailed Technical knowledge about new BTS series & Power equipments including options for use of Conventional source of Power supply.

 Support queries from Customer & Projects regarding BTS Engineering, Power, installation & Interconnect and Antenna systems.

3 Responsibilities & authorities

 To support all customer projects with Site engineering activities in the Market Unit.

 To interface with the customer to obtain Network related information required by the group.

 To provide support to Sales team during tendering/contract process.

 To prepare site specific BTS & Switch Power.

 To prepare BTS site dependent documentation based on sales information.

 To ensure adherence to ITU recommendations in all engineering activities.

 To ensure adherence to Worldwide Nokia Standards and Global engineering. Practices.

 To periodically update the need of BTS Site Solutions on functioning of Engineering and the progress of different projects/activities.

 To support regions with resources and technical knowledge.

 To plan competence development of employees in the group

 To keep abreast with the latest technologies in Nokia/Industry Site Engineering domain.

 To make suitable alteration / improvements to site engineering related processes and practices from time to time.

4 Control, reporting and decision fora

 Ensure that all guidelines and methodologies of each sub function are effectively used for Site engieering activities & prompt corrective & preventive actions taken wherever required.

 Corrective action taken based on QA audit findings by QA team from Site Engineering perspectives.

 Weekly Reports on Number of Surveys done for Macro/Micro BTS sites, number of TSSR prepared, number of solutions suggested and BOQs offered on reviewing the site installation scenarios 

5 Improvements

 To develop competence in each sub function to meet present and future technologies and business trends.

 To get feedback from Projects, RAN Team, QA Reports to further improve upon Site Engineering deliverables.
